Why the Orange?

Ok, guys, everyone is asking, and I’m so pumped to share!

The backstory isn’t a long one, but it gives a few details on what made the orange a no-brainer icon for the Chaser brand.

PRIDE FOR THE ORANGE.

I don’t know if I can speak for every Florida native, but my family and I carry this kind of odd sense of pride for the Florida Orange. Growing up, my dad always made a point to tell us about the orange groves and how they once covered all of central Florida. It was like an important history lesson that he was more than happy to share with my brother and me. Anytime we would travel through Florida, if there was an opportunity to drive past the orange groves and show us what was left of them, my dad would take it. I even remember as a kid, thinking it was a big deal that we had an orange tree in our backyard. Almost like it was a sweet luxury. Today, I laugh at myself because I pretty much do that same thing with my husband. We’ll drive through South Leesburg into Clermont, and nine times out ten, we’ll both mention how all of it used to be orange groves and how crazy it is that they are almost entirely gone!

CUTRALE CITRUS.

My home town and the city Chaser Media Co. is based out of is none other than Leesburg, FL, and right in the heart of it, you’ll find Cutrale Citrus Juice Plant. I’m not sure what year the plant was built, but it’s been here for what seems like forever! I remember driving past it every day as a kid and my dad saying, “smell the orange juice?” Honestly, I couldn’t stand the smell (lol), but the memory goes with that pride for the orange I mentioned. Plus, how many people can say their city is home to one of only seven plants left in the state of Florida?

THE MEANING OF THE COLOR ORANGE.

Moving on from memory lane, the color orange holds a lot of meaning that resonates with the Chaser brand. It aligns with the characteristics I wanted to carry throughout the company and into the companies we serve.

As a born and raised Floridian who owns a Florida based company, primarily serving other Florida based companies, I felt an orange was more than fitting for Chaser Media Co. It’s been a total blast creating merch, shooting content, and sharing the new brand with all of you. The responses and feedback are the best and always so appreciated! I hope all of you love the brand even more now that I’ve shared the why behind the orange.
